Woah September, where did you crop up from? I guess I should now give up all hope of seeing a summer appearing now, but on the plus side it means autumn is popping up any day now. Bring on the days of hot chocolate, blankets and cosy evenings in.
Recently as each new month arrives I’ve been setting myself little goals that I’d like to achieve that month. Nothing huge, just little things I’d like to get done that month. Recently I’ve not been amazing at achieving them, so I thought I’d publish them on the blog, and hopefully having them public will help me get my butt into gear. So here’s what I’d like to achieve this month.
Go to the gym three times a week
I’m currently trying to get a little bit fitter, and have personal training twice a week, but I’m pretty terrible at getting to the gym the other five days a week. This month I’d like to get into a regular gym routine, and get to the gym at least one more time a week.
Finish my 5K mud run
At the end of September I’m running a 5K mud run with a few friends to raise money for Dementia UK. I’ve been training for this for a few months now, and so far can run 4K. I’m starting to really struggle with my training, but I’d really like to be able to run the 5K during my mud run.
As well as trying to get fitter I’m also trying to lose some weight. So far I’ve not been doing very well with the food I eat, so this month I’d really like to give it a bit more effort on the healthy eating front.
Read two books
I used to be a big book reader, but lately I’ve not been reading as much as I’d like to. This month I’d really like to read two books, and hopefully get back into reading.
Cook 4 times a week
Since moving out I’ve realised I’m rubbish at cooking. So far we’ve been living off ready meals, and sauces from jars. I’m determined to learn to cook more, and from scratch, and this month I’d like to do this at least 4 times a week!
Start saving for a holiday
Recently Chris and I realised we’ve never been on holiday together, and we’ll have been together 5 years soon. This might seem a bit ridiculous, but we were together at uni where we were very poor, and since then we’ve been saving up to live together. Now the flat is sorted we’re talking about having a holiday. Funds are little tight these days, but if I start saving small amounts it will soon add up!
All of my goals seem rather reasonable, and I don’t see any reasons why I won’t be able to achieve any of these! I’ll check in again at the end of the month to let you know how I’ve got on!
Do you have anything you’d like to achieve in September? Do you set yourself goals?
In the past six months or so I’ve grown quite an obsession with scented candles. One of my favourite things to do of an evening is burn a nice smelling candle and sit in my room watching TV or reading through blogs – sad I know. I’ve now grown quite a collection of candles and…
I’m luck that I have a nice tight knit group of friends who I get to see regularly. When we were younger we used to spend all of our free time at each others houses, and as we got older we’d spend all of our time together on nights out. Over the past few years…
Now it’s February everyone’s focus has switched from getting fit and being healthy, to all things Valentine’s Day. I find that Valentine’s Day gifts can often get a little samey, with the usual chocolates and flowers still proving to be popular. Although this year I’ve spotted a couple of different gifts, and thought I’d share them with you in case…
At the beginning of October I blogged about my goals for the month. Since then October seems to have completely whizzed by, and now it’s November I can completely focus on all things Christmas! While I’ve been really busy this past month, I’ve completely forgotten what I set out to achieve in October, so now’s a good a time as…
Recently I was contacted by the lovely people at Jison Case asking if I would like to review one of their iPad cases. I love my iPad and I’m constantly using it, so I’m always looking out for a new case, especially one that protects my iPad so I can take it around with me in my…
Christmas time can be quite stressful. I know I’m certainly starting to feel stressed out. Have I bought everyone a present? Is there enough wrapping paper? What if I run out of tags? Do I have enough sellotape? Will everyone like their presents?!?! Not only that but I’m driving up north to my other halves parents…
